Christmas thoughts...

I've not been around for a little while, mainly because of work... but
I've just had a chance to play the latest patch, and have a couple of
thoughts....

1. You don't seem to be able to place canals under bridges (though you
can place bridges over canals....
2. In the arctic climate (all that I've had a chance to play), the
grass by the canals is still temperate green, and doesn't appear to
get snowy!
3. It would be good if it was possible to place lighthouses /
transmitter masts - a menu option from by the place trees would be
agood place to put it...

I'm sure I'll probably think of other comments, but, er, the patch is
looking fantastic - thanks to all that have been working on it -
particularly features like the hi-res and introduction of canals are
real bonuses!

Merry Christmas!

That´s a bug, possibly since the introduction of "custombridgeheads" (?),
2. In the arctic climate [...] the grass by the canals is still temperate

Why don´t use the editor for things like this?

...and, rather oddly I'm getting diesel smoke and sounds from steam
trains in the arctic set - and people carriages don't appear to be
available in standard depots, just electric ones.

Is thi a config problem with my machine, or is it a known thing?

Disappearing passenger coaches in regular depots has been reported before.
Remember that if you have the very latest patch, it is the alpha 41 version,
which is prone to have some bugs, because it is an alpha version.

hehe, yeah. I'm using alpha 42 now (having just upgraded from
something like alpha 16) I've been using computers and ttd with the
patch long enough to know that (o; Just that if noone reported
things that don't work, they'd never be fixed.

Another thing I just noticed, is that road vehicles don't overtake
through road tunnels - I've never really played with ones of different
speeds on the same route before so it's not something I've come
across...

Those will be in NewShips XL, coming soon.

It´s a bug in a42. As a workaround, just electrify the depot(s) (no need to
electrify the track as well).

You cannot place a railway-track under YOUR bride, too.
It says "Tile belongs to another Company" (Gebiet gehört einer anderen
Firma)

Well, that sounds like very bad premises for your marriage, I´m sorry.

The same occurs with electrified tracks, but not with regular tracks or roads.
The type of bridge doesn't seem to matter.
